NASHVILLE, TN. September 21, 2016 – The Black Abbey Brewing Company announced today that it will can their popular beer Forty Four Porter beginning this month. With cans comes a name change for what was previously called POTUS 44 porter.

“POTUS 44 was part of the POTUS series of beers. As 44 has grown in popularity, has transitioned into a year-round product and will now be available across Tennessee in cans.
In order to avoid confusion with our other POTUS series beers, 44 has ‘graduated’ out of the series and will now be known, simply, as 44 Porter.

The Black Abbey will continue to partner with Frothy Monkey Roasting Co, to brew a custom coffee for 44 Porter.

“We at The Black Abbey have always placed a high priority on making beer that is delicious, approachable and accessible.” Meier stated. “44 Porter fits that bill perfectly, and working with a partner as well known and supremely capable as Frothy Monkey has been a delight.”

The Black Abbey Brewing Company will launch 44 Porter cans at their brewery taproom, called Fellowship Hall, on September 30th at 3:30pm. Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck will be there and the brewery will feature 44 Porter specials on tap.

“You can find Black Abbey cans at package, grocery and convenience stores throughout Tennessee now and, beginning in October, look for cans of 44 Porter on the shelves.” Said Meier. The Black Abbey Brewing Company currently offers The Rose, The Champion and 5 Points IPA in cans and several barrel-aged sour ales in 750ml bottles
