chef-rogers-at-workThe 9th Annual Hangout Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend took place November 4-5, 2016 on the sugary white sands of Gulf Shores, Alabama. During the craft beer portion of the festival on Friday night, attendees sipped from more than 20 breweries including regional favorites such as Straight to Ale, Good People Brewing, Cahaba Brewing, and Fairhope Brewing Company.

For the main event on Saturday, over 70 local and nationally renowned chefs competed in three categories for the best oyster (raw, Rockefeller and Cajun.) Winners are listed at Chef demonstrations were also included on the bill of talents.

That’s where Tennessee Craft Beer correspondent, Melissa Corbin, caught up with Oskar Blues Brewery Chef Partner Jason Rogers of Longmont, Colorado to talk about cooking with beer, cannabis, and a couple Oskar Blues new releases to hit the shelves in 2017.
