Travel correspondent, Melissa Corbin, headed to Dancing Bear Lodge and Appalachian Bistro last weekend in celebration of Ronni Lundy’s newest book, “Victuals: An Appalachian Journey, with Recipes.” For those of you wondering, it’s pronounced- /‘vidls/. Chefs Shelley Cooper, Anna Bogle and Travis Milton prepared a feast of Appalachian fare fit for a king, or a queen in this case. Dee Dee Constantine of the Knoxville News Sentinel captured the evening that raised nearly $1,000 to benefit the Great Smokey Mountain Association. You can read her story by clicking here.

Ronni Lundy Victuals Dinner at Dancing Bear

This fundraiser was near and dear to our hearts, as it helps continued efforts by the Great Smokey Mountain Association to preserve Tennessee’s national treasure, even after the devastating fires of last fall. We’d like to thank all of you who participated in last month’s contest by sharing our story about the event. Congratulations to David Wingo! You’ve just won a $100 gift card to Mt. Juliet Market where a host of local products and regional beers can be purchased. Please contact our publisher, Didi Rainey to claim your prize at didi@tncraftbeermag.com.

Up next…Join Melissa for the conversation, as she talks with the folks that made this evening so special. She talks, cider making, greasy beans and a host of other things that’ll make ya drool.
