The cult classic – Death by Coconut Porter, an Irish porter will return Winter 2018 with kickoff events in their taprooms on October 5th.

Death by Coconut was a brew originally by Shamrock Brewing in 2014, and earned a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival in the chocolate beer category. The increased demand for the beer made a challenge for brewers to find a way to continue the rich chocolate flavor with the increase consistency and stability to allow it to be distributed across the United States.

The Death by Chocolate is a seasonal brew that has flavors of bittersweet cocoa and creamy coconut. At a 6.5% ABV, this product is made with water, cacao, and coconut sugar, allowing the brewer to produce a beer that is rich, smooth chocolate flavor by adding liquid chocolate rather than using cocoa nibs or powders. The cacao that is used is directly imported from farmers and co-ops in Ecuador.

The result of natural ingredients allow for chocolate-y malts and coconut aroma that is balanced allowing for a more palatable brew. This also results in no GMO and preservative-infiltrated products, and saving the rainforests.
