It’s one of our favorite times of the year in East Tennessee, Knoxville Craft Beer Week! Beginning June 9th and running through June 16th, you’ll find more beer events than you can shake a pint at. Led by the Knoxville Area Brewer’s Association, Knoxville Craft Beer Week is celebrating its 7th year and culminates with Knoxville Brewfest on the 16th, which benefits Cure Duchenne. Brewfest is always a great time and an excellent opportunity to sample beer from local, regional and national breweries.

What makes Knoxville Beer Week so special? There are currently more than 76 events planned for the week involving more than 32 breweries. Needless to say, each day you’ll have trouble deciding where to go – just check out the list! Also, on June 10th at 2pm there will be a synchronized beer release across the city – pretty neat – check out the calendar for details. While there are a lot of awesome choices, here are just a few of the events we’re excited about.

Schultz Brau Brewery’s 2nd Anniversary! | June 8th and 9th | Hard to believe it’s been two years already. With special beer releases lined up, live music and a bier garden that is ready to party you’d be crazy not to stop by.

Elkmont Exchange Foeder Sour Cask Ale | June 10th | While there is a lot to choose from on the 10th, and across the week for that matter, this event is unique as it’s part of the synchronized beer release and it’s the first beer to come out of Elkmont’s foeder after spending 5 months getting all nice and ready for us. This is a must-not-miss.

Taco Tuesday and Pepper Beers | June 12th | The title says it all and, let’s be honest, it’s Tuesday and Tuesday requires tacos. What the title doesn’t tell you is that this will be at Last Days of Autumn who doesn’t mess around when it comes to food or beer. The only way you’ll regret this is if you don’t go.

Bottle Release, Perennial Smoke | June 14th | Our friends at Pretentious Beer Company are doing their first bottle release. Their beer is top notch, this won’t be anything less. The bottles are limited and there and I guarantee a crowd. Pretentious is also releasing new beers daily throughout the week so be sure to check those out.

Alliance Brewing Company – Cask Release Week | All week | A cask a night from an incredible brewery. Go at least once or four or five times.

A big thanks to the Knoxville Area Brewer’s Association, Michael Frede at Last Days of Autumn for leading the charge and for all the area breweries and distributors who make this week possible.

See you there! Cheers!
