Starting this month, Memphis Made Brewing Co. six packs will be regularly available in stores throughout the Memphis area.

The Cooper Young brewery is putting its popular Fireside in 12 ounce cans year-round. The cans will debut at the Memphis Made tap room for the Cooper York Festival on Sept. 16, with a county-wide release on Sept. 18.

“We’re excited to be canning Fireside,” Andy Ashby, Memphis Made co-founder and sales manager, said. “People have been asking for this for a while and we’ve finally made it a reality.”

Memphis Made has canned before on a limited basis, using a mobile canning service that travels to different breweries.

“We needed more flexibility than the mobile canning service could offer. So we made it Memphis Made; I built a canning machine and we’re doing it all ourselves,” Drew Barton, co-founder and head brewer, said.

Canning started last year by teaming up with Goner Records to produce Gonerfest Session IPA. This year’s version for Gonerfest 14 was the first cans off the new canning machine. It is currently available in the tap room and around town.

Memphis Made also started bottling beer this year, with small batch offerings including Hop Swap IPA, Soulless Ginger, and The Kickdown, with many more to come.

Memphis Made Brewing is a production brewery and tap room located at 768 S. Cooper St. Drew Barton and Andy Ashby started the company in October 2013. It self-distributes to more than 170 bars, restaurants, and stores throughout Shelby County. Its Cooper Young tap room is open to the public Thursday 4-10, Friday 4-10, Saturday 1-10, Sunday 1-7, and Monday 4-7.
