In case you happen to live under a rock you may have missed the bevy of craft brewers, owners and sales reps from across the world that descended upon Nashville like a swarm of locusts devouring all that this great city has to offer. From April 30th through May 3rd, Nashville hosted the Craft Brewers Conference which was an opportunity for craft beer aficionados to sit in on lectures, discuss brewing practices and drink amazing beer from across the globe. Each day as the conference let out, local breweries, bottle shops and restaurants hosted a slew of special events ranging from dinners to tap takeovers where locals and those visiting got the chance to partake in beer that has never been distributed to this area before. In my personal opinion, the two biggest events aside from the conference itself would have been the Shelton Brothers, who brought Cantillon, and the Blackberry Farm and Friends tap takeovers. Hundreds of people showed up each night to quench their thirst and satisfy their taste buds with delectable beer and for a limited time you may still be able to stock up on a few things that may be sitting on shelves throughout the city. Now that CBC week has ended and we all take a collective sigh of relief, we can’t wait for the next big beer event. I’m sure I’ll see you there. Look for much more CBC coverage in on Summer print issue.
